How Warp and Thatch work together
Last updated: September 25, 2026
Warp handles your payroll. Thatch handles your health benefits. The two are connected, so your employee list and your payroll deductions move between them without you entering anything twice.

What we can answer for you
We have broker access to your Thatch account, so email us first. We can see and explain:
Where each employee stands: not yet invited, invited but not finished, enrolled, or declined
Which plan someone picked, their carrier, their monthly premium, and their share of it
Each person's allowance and their coverage start date
Your total spend so far this year and how much of your contributions is going unused
Whether your bank account and payroll connection are live on the Thatch side
That covers most of what employers ask us. Email benefits@warp.co.
What Thatch handles directly
Some things only Thatch can do, because they hold the relationship with the carriers:
Helping an employee choose a plan, including one on one calls with licensed agents
Claims, provider and network questions, and ID cards
Benefits card problems
Plan changes after a qualifying life event
ACA notices and 1095-C reporting
Employees can email support@thatch.com directly for any of the above. You do not need to route it through us.
If you are ever unsure who to ask, ask us. We will either answer it or hand it to Thatch, and we will tell you which one we did.
A quick note on how CHOICE plans work
CHOICE stands for Custom Health Option and Individual Care Expense Arrangement. You may have heard it called an ICHRA. Same thing, new name.
Instead of buying one group plan for everyone, you set a monthly dollar amount per employee and they buy their own individual plan with it. Your cost is the amount you set, so there is no renewal negotiation and no surprise increase.
Three things worth knowing up front:
The plan belongs to the employee, not to you. There is no group policy to renew and nothing for an employee to lose when they leave.
COBRA still exists, it just works differently. There is no group medical plan to continue. If your company is subject to federal COBRA, you can offer continuation of the Thatch allowance and Thatch sends the notice. Article 3 covers what happens when someone leaves.
Premium tax credits go away. Employees who take your allowance cannot claim a premium tax credit on the ACA marketplace, and employees who turn it down usually cannot either. If anyone on your team is on a subsidized marketplace plan today, tell us before you launch and we will walk through it with them.
